Zuoying

Zuoying is northern Kaohsiung's transport powerhouse, where the High-Speed Rail, conventional rail, the MRT Red Line and major expressways all converge, putting Taipei within roughly 90 minutes and the whole island within reach. That connectivity has made the HSR station area one of Kaohsiung's most active redevelopment zones, with new apartment towers, the Hanshin Arena mall and offices rising alongside long-established neighborhoods. At the district's heart lies Lotus Pond (Lianchitan), a scenic lake ringed by the iconic Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, the Spring and Autumn Pavilions and the largest Confucius Temple in Taiwan. Backed by Banping Mountain, the area gives Zuoying a relaxed, almost resort-like character despite its modern infrastructure. For investors, Kaohsiung offers higher yields than Taipei and a lower entry price, though the southern market has softened recently, making Zuoying's transport-anchored, mixed old-and-new fabric a relatively defensive choice within the city.
